Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect when you take the family archetype quiz, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal language.
1. Who we are
Our Family Vows helps families discover, define, and express a shared identity. This policy covers ourfamilyvows.com and the emails we send you. You can reach us at nicole@ourfamilyvows.com, or by post at 600 1st Ave, Ste 330 PMB 92768, Seattle, WA 98104-2246.
2. What we collect
When you take the free quiz, we collect:
- Your answers to the seven quiz questions.
- Your email address, which you enter at the end of the quiz.
- The archetype your answers resolve to, which we calculate from those answers.
We do not ask for your name, your address, your phone number, or anything about your children. We do not collect payment information, because nothing on this site is for sale today.
Our web host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, as part of delivering the site securely. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.
3. The services we use
We use a small number of third parties to run the quiz and send your result. Each one only receives what it needs:
- Tally hosts the quiz form and passes us your answers and email address.
- Kit stores your email address, records which archetype you received, and sends the result email.
- Netlify hosts the website and serves these pages.
- Google Workspace carries mail sent to and from our own addresses.
These companies process your information on our behalf. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Cookies and tracking
The quiz and the assessment remember your progress in your own browser, so a refresh does not lose your answers; that information stays on your device and is not a tracking cookie. Links in our emails may record that they were clicked, which is how we can tell an email arrived.
We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people move through this site: which pages are visited, and where the quiz and the assessment are started and finished. It sets its own cookies. IP addresses are anonymized, and we do not send Google your email address, your name, or any of your answers. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, analytics does not load at all. We use no advertising pixels.
5. How we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- Work out which archetype your answers point to.
- Send you that result by email.
- Send you occasional email about Our Family Vows, including the Founding Families list if you join it.
You gave us your email address in order to receive your result, and we treat that as the basis for sending it. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all of it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your email address and archetype for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your record, we remove it from Kit. Quiz responses held by Tally are kept while the form is live and deleted when we no longer need them.
7. Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what we hold about you.
- Correct it.
- Delete it.
- Stop emailing you, which you can also do yourself from any email we send.
Email nicole@ourfamilyvows.com and we will action it. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local law, and nothing here is meant to limit them.
8. Children
The quiz is written for parents and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their email address, tell us and we will delete it.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and the services above hold your information under their own security programs. No system is perfect, and we cannot promise that a determined attacker will never succeed.
10. Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes to how we use your email will be announced by email.
